J3C College Football Top 25 (2013 Season Final)

After all was said and after all was done, the much-maligned Bowl Championship Series produced a memorable finale.

Throughout the season I kept waiting for Jameis Winston to turn into a freshman quarterback, after all the best thing about freshmen is that they eventually become sophomores.  Late in the year I decided that perhaps that longstanding truth couldn’t be held against FSU until it happened.  For more than a half on Monday night the Auburn defense had me wondering if maybe I’d abandoned that reality too soon.  And on the final two drives of the game Winston showed why I’d decided he might be the exception that proves the rule.  Congratulations to Florida State on a well deserved and well proven championship.

8 months or so and we’ll see them line it up and kick off again, with a new system to get to the finish … but still one goal in mind.  For now we’ll wrap up the 2013 season with the final poll of the BCS era.
